(TLC) approves Raywood SnapShot® 3010 security camera
Raywood cameras are proven
to reduce crime rates
Seattle, WA, July 18, 2003 - Raywood Communications, the pioneer
of in-vehicle digital, security cameras for the taxi and limousine
industry, today announced that the new SnapShot® Camera, the
3010 has been approved for installation by the New York City Taxi
& Limousine Commission (TLC). This new model offers the latest
in image quality and compression technology. Unlike other digital
security cameras, the 3010 can store up to 4,000 images or more
without any degradation of image quality.
"New York's Taxi and Limousine Commission continues to be
the leader in fighting for the safety and needs of the cab driver"
said Mr. Doug Anderson, the Seattle based Executive Vice President
of Raywood Communications. "We are very pleased that the 3010
has been approved for installation in New York City" he continued.
"New York has traditionally been a very strong market for
Raywood and we are confident that the new 3010 camera will enhance
the fight against crime in the taxi and limousine industry and provide
greater safety for drivers" said Steve Watt, CEO of Raywood
Communications.
The benefits of in-vehicle security cameras have been recognized
by industry and governing bodies worldwide. "The deterrent
value of Raywood cameras in fighting taxi crime is undeniable,"
according to Mr. Watt. "Compared to the installation of shields,
SnapShot cameras, are less expensive, more acceptable to customers
and drivers, and are more effective in reducing crime" continued
Mr. Watt. Recent police statistics in Australia where cameras have
been mandated, clearly demonstrate the impact that in-vehicle security
cameras have on the crime rate.
Raywood SnapShot is the choice of camera for over 14,000 taxi drivers
worldwide. With superior image quality, Raywood cameras are a proven
deterrent that helps reduce attacks on drivers and petty fare-evaders.
The images from Raywood cameras have been successfully used as evidence
in court proceedings, delivering peace of mind so drivers can stay
on the road night and day.
