Next-generation MD-X
In today’s challenging and highly competitive environment,
operators are looking for solutions to give them an edge. Raywood’s
MD-X in-vehicle device combined with our proven, GPS job dispatch
platform can deliver outstanding improvements in customer service,
operational efficiency and fleet performance.
Flexible platform for growth
MD-X provides the in-vehicle interface for the feature-rich and
flexible Raywood dispatch platform. Drawing from over 25 years
of industry knowledge, the Raywood platform comfortably caters
for specific taxi company requirements and has supported the
exponential growth of our customers. MD-X brings the solution
firmly into the new century, with support for Microsoft Windows
Mobile in-vehicle devices and public data networks. The flexible,
software “platform” approach means that operators
can now consider options such as integrated meters, in-cab navigation,
text-to-speech and multiple in-vehicle screens.
Colour, touch-screen display
MD-X has a 6.4”, colour touch screen display that can be
mounted either in the centre console or the dashboard of the vehicle.
The intuitive graphical user interface is extremely easy to operate,
even those not used to computers.
Choice of communications infrastructure
With the emergence of high-speed, public data networks such as
GPRS, CDMA 1xRTT and 3G, cab company operators now have much
more flexibility in the way that information can be delivered.
MD-X can operate simultaneously on public data networks and existing
private radio networks, to deliver essential information accurately
and efficiently.

In-vehicle navigation
Raywood partners with navigation software specialists to deliver
a range of solutions, from simple static mapping to interactive
turn-by-turn navigation to the pick-up and/or destination address.
Text-to-speech
MD-X provides optional text-to-speech technology, which means that
drivers can maintain their attention on the road, while the details
of the job are simply read out.
